Upload Images From Your Computer

Using your FTP Program, it’s an easy task to upload those photos to your website from your computer.

I always create a folder (also called a “sub-directory”) to store the images in. Though this is not necessary, it is advised. If you don’t create separate folders for images, videos, and other media as you develop your website, your root directory of your domain will eventually become so disorganized you won’t be able to find anything quickly or easily.

Should you create a sub-directory, like images, this creates a url for your image of:

http://www.your-website-name/images/yourimagename” (without quotes)

This is because the picture is in the images folder, and the images folder is in the root directory (of the domain).
