Let’s Talk About Adsense Income

Adsense income is one of the easiest ways to make money from a website or blog. Adsense is a main source of income for many webmasters. For those who aren’t webmasters, but simply bloggers using free blog services, it is their only income from their efforts because they are often restricted from monetizing their blogs in the way true webmasters can.

Teenagers are likely becoming the largest users of adsense income in order to make some spending money. They often have a huge social network of people on Facebook, Twitter, and other online sources. The smart teenagers use these social networks to direct their “friends” to their blog. It is on the blog that Adsense ads can be found. Only a few clicks a day from visiting friends can add up to hundreds of dollars each month. Individuals of all ages place Adsense ads on their online family photo albums, personal blogs and even on a business website (though the latter, not as much). Even with the absolute minimum amount of clicks, the Adsense revenue generated would be enough to pay host server costs, if needed.

Though nobody is certain of how much each click will pay beforehand, it is known that the more expensive the word (also referred to as a “keyword”) sold by Adsense, the higher the payout should be if a visitor clicks on the ad placed on a website. Other factors include the position of the Adsense ad among the others, the amount of total visitors, and other factors. While some can take an educated guess of how much a keyword will pay, nobody but a select few from Google know the actual algorithm for the payment structure.

Some times there is no rhyme or reason to Adsense payouts. I’ve had Adsense on one site pay as much as $15 for a single click. The next day another click on the same ad placement might only pay me a dime.

Anyone can apply to place Adsense on their website without being charged by Google for the service. Unlike other advertisers, this has resulted in millions of people all over the world signing up with Google to make Adsense income. It was an intelligent move by Google when they first introduced Adsense and pay-for-click, because they quickly extended their presence to countless websites and generate hundreds of millions of dollars in advertising revenue.

One of the reasons for Adsense’s meteoric success is in it’s automation. Through coding, Adsense ads are able to find listing to be displayed that matches iin relevance to each and every page on a website; Adsense picks up on keywords appearing in the website’s content (a posted article) and automatically displays relevant ads. This increases the chances of people clicking, and the webmaster collecting more revenue.  It also allows a webmaster the ability to create a website and walk away, knowing that the ads will always remain active and won’t have to be updated. It’s a constant Adsense income that will remain as long as Google is in business (which will be for a very, very long time).

The downside to creating Adsense income? Should a visitor click on an ad found on your website, they will be redirected to the advertiser’s website in the same browser window. That is, whereas other ads allow the webmaster to create a new browser window that allows the visitor to remain on their website, Adsense does not allow a new window to open, thereby taking away your visitor – who may never return.
