HOW DOES THE INTERNET WORK?

People who are new to Internet and computers have a lot of questions about how it all works. The truth is that you don’t have to know everything about the Internet. Who cares about how it works? I don’t. What you need to do is learn how to make money with it. None of us care about how information is converted and transferred from our home computer to the World Wide Web. We just want to know that it is done accurately and as quickly as possible in order to make some home income.

No single website will give you all the answers to every question – including this one, but most of your Internet and website questions may be answered either in our posts, or from previous questions submitted by our subscribers. Now, it should be pointed out that most answers in this day and age of technology can be found by searching Google.com. However, it is often a long and tedious process of sorting through those Google returns to eliminate those that don’t provide an answer, or those that are nothing more than advertisements.

It is the intention of this website to provide you with answers. However, some answers just can’t be simplified into one single post. Such as the one we are often asked:  “How do I perform SEO (Search Engine Optimization) for my website?” SEO, if you don’t know, is a task you perform for your website to rank higher than other websites on search engine returns (the results of a Google, Yahoo, MSN, and other search engines).

Wow, it’s a broad question! You should know that books have been written regarding SEO and many vary on the approach. Such questions we briefly touch on, but it is a subject that we often defer to the best authors, such as Kristopher B. Jones’ Search Engine Optimization. His book is considered by many to be the “SEO Bible.”

The Internet is huge and creating a successful website is no easy task, but it is possible with time and effort. Never believe any sales pitch that a tool or program will make you thousands of dollars in a week, or a millionaire in a year. The Internet business does not happen that quickly.

As stated in our download and in other areas of this website, you will have to treat your website business as a you would if you opened a brick and mortar store in your neighborhood. You need to make your website appearance eye-pleasing, your content original and informative, and you have to get the word out that you exist.

As with any business, you have to work hard at making it successful in the beginning. Only later will you have the time and the money to kick back a bit and relax – spending those “few hours a week” that the scam artists tell you will happen in a matter of days.

Learning the Internet isn’t that difficult. Most of your knowledge will come from making mistakes. I made plenty of them when I first started those many, many years ago.
