Getting Clicks For Your Affiliate Links
Getting clicks and commissions from your affiliate links doesn’t have to left to the whim of visitors. Successful affiliate links can be used openly and by “openly,” I mean that you can actually tell people that you will earn a commission if they buy something by using your link to land at the sellers website.
This can be done through emails to people you know – not by spamming.
Let’s say your child is getting married, or you are having a family reunion, or you are simply so popular that you have to make folders in your email program to separate Best Friends, Really Good Friends, Wannabe My Friend, etc. You have a really big list.
To make the most of your affiliate links, pick the best 3 – 5 of those that most people would find useful (Department Stores, Health, etc). In your mailing explain to your recipients that if they use your affiliate links, you earn a small commission if they buy something and let them know what you are going to use the money for. “Help offset wedding costs,” “Buy some great food for the reunion,” “College fund for the kids.”
You get the idea.
You would be surprised at the amount of people who will click the link and actually make a purchase of something they were putting off. If you’re lucky, those long lasting cookies may repeat themselves if your people go back to that store again before your cookie expires from your affiliate links.
