Best Website Hosting Companies
WEBSITE HOSTING
A web hosting service is a type of Internet hosting service that allows individuals and organizations to provide their own website accessible via the World Wide Web. Web hosts are companies that provide space on a server they own or lease for use by their clients as well as providing Internet connectivity, typically in a data center.
In my download, HomeIncome30, I am quite specific about not using the same website hosting company you purchase your domain name from, for your hosting server. In turn, my students have asked me why I’m adamant about keeping the two purchases separate.
The answer is fairly simple. Service and value. Companies that excel at hosting and offer great pricing try to make an extra profit on domain registration and vice verse. A company who is excellent at one service is usually not excellent at another.
Your web hosting service provider is probably the most important part of having a website running correctly with few problems and little downtime.
The web host is where your domain name rests and provides all the necessary components for it to be viewed by visitors (this is a very simplified explanation). If their server has a problem and goes down, or is somehow compromised by a virus or hacker, then your website suffers. If you have a problem with your website because you made a mistake, it is often your web hosting service that can get you running again or repair the issue causing the problem. This means you need 24/7 support available at all times with little delay in reaching a customer service representative.

This brings me to Hostgator. I have been using them for many years and have yet to be disappointed. Their customer service is excellent and there downtime is virtually never. I believe over the last 10 years my websites have been down a total of 5 hours (and I don’t think it was that much). So sure are they of their lack of downtime, that they offer a guarantee of the month free should they be down for a length of time that comes to about an hour a month, when you figure out the percentage they promise.
Speaking of Hostgator customer service, I have yet to be disappointed with anyone I’ve spoken with. As my students know, I learned the Home Income business with the Internet the old fashioned way. I had to read books and learn by trial and error. It is a never-ending learning experience, so even I get stumped occasionally when I’ve done some coding, or added a function to my websites that screws up the works. There has been more than one time when a call to Hostgator has fixed the problem without charge – when it wasn’t even their fault. Their staff is simply amazing in finding and correcting problems quickly. That’s service!

In my download, you will find that I recommend one of three plans Hostgator offers. The price is less than $10/mo and offers unlimited add-on domains. This means that, though you start with only one website, as you progress in the business you will be adding more websites to your empire. Rather than being charged for additional hosting, it is free to add more. An unlimited amount of additional websites costs you nothing more than $10/mo. That’s value!
Now some of you may not believe that Hostgator is the best. Perhaps you want to kick some tires before making a decision, so I’ll provide you with some other options. After Hostgator, I would rank these as the next best. Look over their offers and decide for yourself.
